5 Time-Saving Tips for Busy Entrepreneurs

Get More Done and Work Less

Running a business from the top can be a very time-consuming job especially when you are trying to affect major change, as we are with our growth plans for Baiting Hollow based, Environmental Safety, Inc. Your time is a very precious resource that you need to spend wisely. However, this is sometimes easy said than done. When you are running the show, it can be very easy to get distracted and waste some (or a lot) of your valuable time.

Try these 5 time-saving tips to help you be more productive with your time:

Tip #1: Plan your time

Creating a schedule to stick to can be one of the biggest time-savers you can implement. Take half an hour at the start of each week to schedule out your week.

Add in meetings, appointments, and deadlines, then add in other tasks that need to be completed and when you plan to do so. Having a plan set out for you takes the guessing out of what to do next and saves time in between tasks.

Tip #2: Use chunking

Chunking is an effective method to help take the guess-work out of your day-to-day. Allocate certain days or chunks of each day to certain tasks. For example, Mondays are dedicated to business-building tasks, Tuesdays are for internal meetings, or the first hour of the day is for general admin, followed by 2 hours of research.

Tip #3: Block out distractions

When working on tasks that require concentration, block out as many distractions as you can. Turn off your phone, silence your emails, put a do not disturb sign on the door.

Do what you need to do to remove any possible distractions from your time-chunk dedicated to that task. This will help you to be more productive with your time and complete tasks much quicker.

Tip #4: Prioritize your tasks

At the beginning of each day, take a quick run through your to-do list and decide what is most important. What are the three top things you need to accomplish for the day? Rate them according to the importance and complete those tasks first, before moving onto the less important ones.

Tip #5: Take regular breaks

This may sound a little counter-intuitive, but it is the best thing you can do to maintain your productivity. Take a moment to walk outside or simply take 15 minutes away from your desk. This time will help refresh your mind and refocus yourself before you start the next task.
